Hi With so many people still away on holiday, we've had a quiet and productive week here at the Chamber, preparing for 2021. Our strategic plan for 2021 is almost finished and the events calendar is filling up for the year ahead. We have been busy catching up with our partners and welcoming new members. It gives us the greatest confidence going into this unpredictable year, to have the support of such excellent local businesses and business people.

Education to Employment UpdateOne week back and we've already placed our first student into work experience with the potential to turn into an apprenticeship.
Last year we had a number of successes, including placing three students into employment with PTS. Here's some feedback sent to us from Sophie Malolo, the People and Culture Coorrdinator at PTS: "They have shown up every day on time, I’ve had zero issues. I’ve caught up with all of them and they are really enjoying it so far. "
Would you like to offer work experience to a senior student? Even if you can only offer one day, this gives a young person a valuable opportunity to learn about your industry. Last year our senior students performed so well at their work experience placements and many of them were offered ongoing employment. Contact Amanda today at amanda@hvchamber.org.nz for an informal chat about any opportunities you might have. We know of many high caliber senior students keen to engage in work opportunities.
