Mike Gould, Partner and Head of Employment Law team at Gibson Sheat Lawyers was joined by Nikki Farrell, Senior Solicitor. They gave an overview of the pieces of legislation that are relevant when thinking about vaccinations and your workforce. This included the Health & Safety at Work Act, Human Rights Act, Employment Relations Act, Bill of Rights Act, The Privacy Act and the Public Health Order. If you missed it, you can view here. ![]() The Hutt Valley is working hard to lead the way in vaccinations, both the Hutt City Council and Upper Hutt Council are Supporting Super Shot Saturday on 16th October, a nationwide push for vaccination. The Hutt Valley will be getting a vaccination bus in time for Super Shot Saturday. This bus will then visit business areas and suburbs around the Hutt Valley over the coming weeks. The Latest COVID-19 Business UpdatesAccessing the Government Financial SupportLevels across the country stay and the same financial support continues to be available to affected businesses. COVID 19 LEVEL 2 UPDATE Applications for #4 will close at 11.59pm, Thursday 14 October. Wage subsidies will continue to be available for any eligible businesses across the country while Auckland transitions through Level 3 stages. Information on how to apply here. Applications for a 3rd Resurgence Payment opened on 8 October, 2021. For the 3rd Resurgence Payment period, the affected revenue period starts from 1 October 2021. Applications are still open for the first two Resurgence Payments. Separate applications need to be made for each Resurgence Payment available under the Resurgence Support Payment scheme. Mandatory Vaccinations for two workforces in addition to MIQ, airports and ports. An amendment will be made to the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 that will require a new set of workers in the health and disability sector to be fully vaccinated by 1st December, 2021. From 1 January 2022, schools and early learning services and providers will need to maintain a register, and ensure only vaccinated staff and support people have contact with children and students. The visit allowed the young people to experience first hand the support services that are required to operate bus services and hear about what it is like to be a bus driver in Wellington.
