INDUSTRY NEWS

Queen's Baton Relay

Everyone is invited to come down and welcome the Queen’s Baton to Coffs Coast on Thursday 1 February 2018 from 4pm. The opening ceremony will take place at the Jetty Foreshore where the first baton bearer will start the Coffs Harbour leg of the Queen’s Baton journey. The Baton will be passed through 13 baton bearers until it reaches the closing ceremony in City Square where the public can come together and share the spirit of the Relay and the Games. For a map of the Relay, alternative routes and more information, visit www.coffscoast.com.au/qbr2018 [https://www.coffscoast.com.au/event/queens-baton-relay/].

Junior Oztag

Once again the Coffs Coast is hosting the Junior State Cup Oztag event from 9-11 Feb 2018, the largest oztag event of the year, which will see a huge influx of junior players, their families and extra visitors to our area.

We hope that you will extend a warm welcome to our guests and continue to demonstrate the outstanding hospitality we have become known for when hosting these major events.

We are happy to pass on to the Oztag organisers any special deals you wish to offer over this 3 day weekend and of any extended trading hours for restaurants and food outlets.

Solitary Islands Coastal Walk

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) have created a great new updated brochure for the Solitary Islands Coastal Walk which is now available for viewing on their website [http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/things-to-do/walking-tracks/solitary-islands-coastal-walk/visitor-info#Maps-and-downloads]. Please let your visitors know about this wonderful experience, which can be accomplished a small section at a time or the entire walk can be done in four days, with a choice of accommodation along the way.

Accessible Accommodation on the Coffs Coast

We are currently updating our Accessible Accommodation Guide for the Coffs Coast and will be contacting operators shortly to ensure that our records of your accessible facilities are up to date.

To complement the new guide, a dedicated page will be set up on our Coffs Coast website as a quick reference guide of our Accessible tourism places to "Stay" and "Play", so make sure your business does not miss out on being included.
