Fall Swim Lesson Information Now Available!

Dear Valued Customer,
Are you ready for Fall swim lesson registration? This Fall we will have three options for swim lesson times at the Mount Rainier Pool. Options include Monday/Wednesday and Saturday group lessons, and Private and Semi-Private lessons. See below for each options class dates, and registration dates for current and new students. Our goal is to offer swim lessons with plenty of open, family and lap swims for youth and families to refine their skills. Also we encourage swimmers who complete our program to move onto swim teams, like the Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club (S.M.A.C.) that use the pool to master their skills.
* Tuesday and Thursday lessons will be moved to Mondays and Wednesdays, effective the week of September 16th due to Mount Rainier High School Swim Meets closing Mount Rainier Pool every Tuesday between September 17-October 8 from 1 to 6pm.
**No Classes November 11 (Veteran’s Day) and November 25 & 27 (Thanksgiving Week). Special 7 session class price.
***No class Saturday, November 30 (Thanksgiving weekend).
Registration starts at 4:00pm on weekdays and 7:00am on Saturdays.
FEES
Adult, Pre and Learn to Swim Levels: $64 for residents and $78 for non-residents*.
Parent & Child Classes: Swim Lessons are $47 for residents and $60 for non-residents*.
7-Session Class: Monday/Wednesday, November 13-December 11 Special lower rate. See below for more information.
All lessons include a 5-Visit Swim Lesson Practice Card (up to a $18.75 value) to be used at Family, Open and Lap Swims.
*SPECIAL - residents are anyone that lives inside the boundaries of Des Moines and Normandy Park.
Placement Tests
All participants are required to complete a placement test before registering for classes. There are no appointments as tests will be done drop-in on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will stay until all tests are completed. Parent or Guardian must be present during test. Placement tests are held during Family Swims.

Scholarship Program
Effective September 1, we will additional money available for scholarships. You can now pre-apply for our expanded scholarship program that offers up to 90% financial aid, and includes swim lessons, facility passes and water exercise. Application for scholarship program does not guarantee a spot in classes or funding. Hurry while funds are still available.

Registration
You can either register in-person or over the phone.
In-person will be helped first-come, first-serve.
Over-the-phone will also be helped first-come, first-served. Please keep calling back until you get through, messages will be called back once all phone calls are answered.

Fall Schedule
The Fall Schedule is now available for download. Our goal is to best serve the community by balancing all of our users needs: swim lessons, lap swimmers, families, school swim and dive teams, private swim and dive teams, water exercise, birthday parties, business water safety trainings, PTSA swim nights, schools out events and reduced rate days so everyone in our community can enjoy! We hope you enjoy the expanded schedule.
We also have grown our staff to around forty over the last year, but we are always looking at adding good people to join our team. We are committed to working with youth to learn good job skills and balance work with their extracurricular activities. We are also open to working with adults too. We waive training certifications for workers that are willing to commit to six months of employment. We hope this will help us better hire youth from our community.
