Proudly serving our black coal mining industry
Coal LSL welcomes the opportunity for Australia’s only nationally portable long service leave scheme to be highlighted through Senate Committee Hearings.
You are likely aware that Coal LSL was recently invited once again to attend a Senate Education and Employment Legislation Committee relating to casualisation within the industry. Our scheme is in place to support the industry and its employees, and we value the clarity that is being provided around it because of these events.
We want to share this information about our operations with you, including the Opening Statement that was tabled, so you are well equipped in your important role of long service leave administration for your eligible employees in the scheme.
Client surveyCoal LSL is conducting an online client satisfaction survey, which will guide investment of time and funds into future service improvements. The survey involves a cross-section of our employer and employee client groups. It will be carried out from late April and finish in May.
Annual audit reportsA reminder that employers of eligible employees are legally obligated to submit an annual audit report. The report provides an auditor’s opinion as to whether an employer has paid the correct levy amount (including any additional levy) and claimed the right reimbursements. When submitting your report, please ensure Coal LSL details are current, including the correct postal address, which is Locked Bag 2021, Newcastle NSW 2300.
Online user guide for employer portalThere is now an online user guide available for the employer self-service portal. The portal has limited functionality; however, plans are underway for an improved long-term solution. In the meantime, we trust this simple guide lends some support to your long service leave administration tasks. Our Employer Relations team is always available for further assistance.
Latest employee enquiriesFind out what employees have been asking about lately, what’s important to them. Topics include eligibility versus entitlement, early access to accrued leave, portability of leave, and access to leave balances.
