2019 Seminar in Forensic Tox - Criminal Poisoning & Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assault: Forensic, Legal, and Medical Aspects
Join us in Washington, DC on December 9-10 for these presentations and more!
- Dr. Gregory Saathoff will start the conference with an enlightening discussion on the profile of poisoners and lessons learned from history.
- Dr. Christopher Holstege will present an overview of a timely topic, threat assessment.
- Thomas Neer, Supervisory Special Agent, FBI-BAU (Ret.), will talk about investigative challenges associated with poisoners, focusing on the Michael Swango case.
- Attorney Beth Klein will provide an overview of the sordid world of sex trafficking and forced drug addiction.
- Dr. Ken Kulig will present "Drugs Made Me Do It", a thought-provoking look at the chemical impairment defense used in criminal cases.
- Dr. Stacey Hail will discuss a series of cases that pertain to drug-facilitated sexual assault.
ACMT Receives a $500,000 Grant to Address SUD Education
On Sep. 20, SAMHSA announced that ACMT has been awarded a $500,000 2-year grant to expand the integration of substance use disorder (SUD) education in 21 emergency medicine residency programs with ACMT site leads.
