Raising Money for NEPAL at the NEAS Conference

The recent tragedy in NEPAL touches the ELT sector in many ways and with the NEAS Conference so close, we thought we would take the opportunity to ask conference goers to “dig deep” and lend a hand.

At the time of this week's NEAS News going to print, over 3,000,000 Nepalese are in need of food aid and more than 130,000 home have been destroyed.

Children have been seperated from their families and it is estimated that over $400 million USD will be required to support the relief effort.

Ask your employers and your students to support this cause also!

An initiative of NEAS and ILSC, keep an eye out for the fundraising posters at the conference, or click www.redcross.com.au/nepal-earthquake-2015.   We hope you will give generously!

QALEN – Australia New Zealand Collaboration

QALEN is the Quality Assurance in Language Education Network.  QALEN’s members include Quality Assurance Agencies from Australia, New Zealand, the USA, UK and Malta.

Established to support a global think tank of QA organisations who share best practice and innovation, one of QALEN’s first international quality assurance collaborative efforts recently took place in New Zealand immediately after the ANZA Workshop in Auckland.    Languages International hosted a combined visit from NEAS and English New Zealand quality assessors, who took the opportunity to compare the similarities and differences that support quality in language education on both sides of the Tasman.

QALEN members are NEAS; FELTOM; English New Zealand; ACCET and ABLS and growing!
