Throwback ThursdayCooke Park Skate ParkThe Cooke Park Skate Park in Madeline Street Strathfield South has been a popular venue for local skateboarders for more than 20 years. Strathfield Council identified a need for skateboarding facilities in its Recreation Plan of 1999. The current skate park was constructed by Convic Skate Parks, who have built hundreds of skate parks throughout Australia. It was officially opened by Mayor John Abi-Saab on 16 August 2003 and replaced earlier skateboarding facilities that had been vandalised and damaged by fire. Head to Cooke Park at 5pm today and have your say on the future of the skate park. Take the survey and receive a food truck voucher! |
