SLDL February Newsletter

The SLDL office hopes to engage students, faculty, and staff in ways
that promote and develop an inclusive and diverse environment.
We oversee student clubs and the Graduate Student Council, promote student engagement, host events and workshops related to diversity and leadership, advise international students, promote mentorship, and manage health insurance enrollment. February is Black History Month in the United States. Black History Month is an annual celebration honoring the achievements of African Americans.

Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is the beginning of the calendar year based on moon cycles. It's often celebrated among Asian countries that use the lunar calendar. We hope everyone has a safe and happy celebration!

Call for Proposal Deadline - Realizing Equity Research Symposium  

Deadline extended! Submit your proposal to participate in CGU's Realizing Equity Symposium. Prosposals are now due February 15, 2022 for the Symposium taking place on april 8, 2022. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, including those with research-in-progress.

Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshops 

Wednesday, February 2nd | 12pm pacific time

SLDL will host an Optional Practical Training (OPT) workshop, open to all current F-1 students, especially those who are planning to apply for pre/post completion OPT during the current or upcoming semester. During the session, we will cover information on what OPT is, and the application process including eligibility rules, timeline and required documents for submission.
