They have now been replaced offering safer access to Elliot and Bark Huts Reserves to the south, and Ford Park and South End Tennis Centre to the north

Council has established the Strathfield Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel (SIHAP), an independent forum for stakeholders (applicants, the community and objectors) to submit and discuss issues relevant to development applications that would usually be referred to the Council for a determination.
SIHAP is an important component of Council's enhanced Planning Framework, an objective and merits based package of initiatives integrating urban design, heritage, conservation and public participation into assessing applications. The aim is to improve public confidence in Council's planning decisions, whilst also achieving better planning outcomes for Strathfield's neighbourhoods, development precincts and centres.

The Council ClocksThe clocks in the tower of Town Hall on Homebush Road have recently had a refresh. The faces have been repainted including the numbers with the quarter positions made more prominent. The clocks were originally donated by William Arnott’s Pty Ltd in 1939. At the time, Arnott’s Biscuit Factory was located at Homebush and managed by members of the
Arnott family. Many members of the Arnott’s Board were long-term residents of the Strathfield area. Until this donation the Town Hall, which had been built in 1887, had not featured a clock.
