Dear Friends,

The FriendShip is planning some great programs for later this month! Please check out the details below and mark your calendars.

Get into the Holiday Spirit with Music! - Dec. 22

Please join The FriendShip on Tuesday, December 22 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. for a special program filled with music to get us all in the holiday spirit! Ruth Smith, one of our Program Committee members, has invited her very talented family members to be special musical guests! They have made recordings just for The FriendShip that will feature some traditional Christmas music, as well as their own pieces. After the music, Ruth will share some ideas for finding hope during these difficult times. Don't miss this chance to find music and hope for the holidays!

This program will be held via Zoom. Please email contact@thefriendship.org or call 803-602-6434 to RSVP. The Zoom link and dial-in information will be sent out the morning of the program to all members and volunteers. (Note: We will not be able to record this for circulation after the event so we hope you can tune in on December 22!)

Are You a Town Mouse or a Country Mouse? - Dec. 29

The FriendShip's next Afternoon Social Hour will be held on Tuesday, December 29 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Our discussion topic this month will revolve around the old Aesop fable, "The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse." We will circulate the story in advance so you can (re)acquaint yourself with the tale. When we get together on December 29, we can read it aloud and chat about whether we'd prefer to live in a bustling metroplis or among country vistas! (How did you choose where you live? Where would you want to live if you could choose anywhere?) The social hour promises to be a fun way to get to know other members and volunteers! Hope you can join us!

This program will be held via Zoom. Please email contact@thefriendship.org or call 803-602-6434 to RSVP. The Zoom link and dial-in information will be sent out the morning of the program to all members and volunteers. We will also circulate the short story in advance but you can still participate even if you haven't had a chance to read it!

Other Reminders

Here are a couple of other important pieces of information:

  • Office closures during the holiday season - The FriendShip office will be closed on Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 for Christmas. The office will also be closed on Friday, January 1.
  • Supporting The FriendShip via Amazon Smile - There's an easy way to support The FriendShip when you shop on Amazon! Click here to designate The FriendShip as your favorite charitable organization and Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to us when you shop! Once you've registered, you do have to be sure to shop at smile.amazon.com (and not just at amazon.com).

Take care!
