Summer has arrived and we all know what that means - Holiday Time! A time to wind down with family and friends, to relax and to catch up on all the things we promised ourselves throughout the year. Activities away from the daily routine, and time to read all those books sitting on your bedside table. Happy Reading and Seasons Greetings from all our staff.
Great News!We are pleased to announce City of Parramatta Libraries have extended the opening hours in time for the summer hoildays.
Over the Christmas holidays, library hours vary through out our library service. Parramatta Library will open during the hoilday period and will close on public holidays. Branch libraries will be closed between Christmas and new year.

One City, One Book
NSW Reads
a big book clubThe New South Wales Public Library Association is thrilled to announce the very first state-wide reading program, 'NSW Reads'. It’s a big book club, and everyone in New South Wales is invited to read from 10th December to 17th February 2021. Library members across the state are encouraged to read Sydney author Andrew Pippos’s debut novel, Lucky’s (Picador).
Beamafilm - new releases and festive favouritesDecember is already here, so start easing into holiday mode with a fabulous TV series, new releases and festive collections, old and new.
Library members don't need to pay to watch films, you can stream 1000s of great movies and documentaries online with your library card.
Summer Daze Out and AboutDo you love the library, but still want to spend some time outdoors? Maybe you need some inspiration on where to hang out this summer? Join the children’s team as they take the library outdoors through a series of 5 Summer Daze videos. They will take you on a journey through the Parramatta LGA where they will read a story, learn some fun facts, cook, make a craft and more.
Virtual Harry Potter Trivia Calling all Muggles! Celebrate Summer Daze by joining the children’s team as they present a virtual Harry Potter trivia afternoon! Dress up as your favourite Harry Potter character (or not) and join us from home where you will compete against other muggles for the top prize of Most Magical Muggle! Questions will be based upon all 7 Harry Potter books.
Christmas and Summer DIY Craft to Take HomeLibrary staff have created DIY Craft kits for children using simple materials to inspire creativity and fun. Craft kits are available for children aged 3 to 12 years, no special tools or skills required. To find out more information about
