Street Library Revolution
Calling all booklovers in Strathfield! Council in conjunction with Street Libraries Australia is offering up to 10 Strathfield residents a chance to create their own Street Library for free. Apply now! Applications close 14 September.
Family Fun at the Spring Festival
Did you attend the Strathfield Spring Festival over the weekend? Thank you to everyone who came to the festival and our sponsors Strathfield Plaza and 2RDJ-FM for supporting the event! Scores on Doors
Strathfield Council’s Environmental Health Officers have developed a personalised ‘Essential Ingredient’ training program. The program assists local businesses achieve a Scores on Doors rating, which indicates whether they have met the hygiene and food safety standards.

Tee-rific Effort!
Hudson Park is donating all proceeds taken last weekend to the NSW Farmers Appeal. That’s $7,044.60 going straight to rural communities in need! Council wish to thank everyone who has generously donated to the Farmers Appeal.

Is your child car seat safe? Come for a free child car seat, harnesses and booster seat safety check by an authorised Restraint Fitter. Bookings are essential, register now!

Powell’s Creek Environmental Contamination
Council’s environmental investigation revealed the source of the contamination at Powell’s Creek last month. 800 litres of cream were washed into the stormwater drain, taking vital oxygen away from plants, fish and other aquatic animals. The drain is just for rain; help protect our environment and report pollution!
Wallis Reserve Garden
Works have commenced to restore Wallis Reserve Garden back to its beautiful original state from the 1960s with installation of 150 roses, repairing irrigation, and reinstating the sundial and pergola. Works will be completed in three weeks and the garden will be closed during this time.
White Balloon Day
As part of National Child Protection Week, Council is supporting Bravehearts by participating in White Balloon Day on Friday 7 September! Help protect our children, prevent child sexual assault, and empower them to find their voice.
Throwback Thursday
Flemington Stock and Cattle Yards
What used to be the Sydney Stock and Cattle Yards is now the site of Sydney Markets at Flemington. Despite significant protest from Strathfield Council, which preferred redevelopment of the site for residential purposes, it was decided in the early 1960s to relocate the City Fruit and Vegetable Markets to this site.
