Coronavirus Information and Resources
A number of key updates were made to the SLSNSW Coronavirus webpage on 22 October, including updated information on outdoor gatherings, restaurant bookings and gyms.
Surf Life Saving specific COVID-19 Safety Plan Templates (updated 22 October) are available to download from Dropbox. Please download the Summary of Changes document and ensure you familiarise yourself with the updated information found on the SLSNSW Coronavirus webpage.
Our Club is Your Club - National Recruitment Campaign Resources
We are happy to announce that the Surf Life Saving National Recruitment Campaign has officially been launched, and we are so excited to be able to share the suite of resources with you. These resources are focused on the Our Club is Your Club theme, and will be rolled out across all media and online platforms including TV, radio, print and online and of course via social media.
We encourage clubs to make this campaign their own, and to use the materials where you see the opportunity – this may be to recruit new members or reengage existing members.
Hero Nipper Wins Award for Rip Rescue
An incredible rescue by 11-year-old Nipper Lachie Muldrock has won the Surf Life Saving NSW Rescue of the Month Award for September.
Surf Life Saving NSW Announces New Life Members
At the SLSNSW Annual General Meeting held last Friday, two long-serving volunteer surf lifesavers were elevated to the distinguished position of NSW Life Member - Congratulations to Michael Bretherton (Garie SLSC and Burning Palms SLSC) and Tony Rettke (Tathra SLSC, Far South Coast Branch President).
NAIDOC Week 2020
NAIDOC events are held around the country each year to build awareness of the history, culture and achievements of our First Nations People, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To celebrate NAIDOC Week 2020, Surf Life Saving NSW spoke with some Aboriginal leaders within Surf Life Saving.
Lifesavers Building Capability, Capacity and Resilience Through Expert Training
The Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education, the Hon. Dr. Geoff Lee MP, met with surf lifesavers in Kiama last Friday to discuss the new UAV (drone) pilot training program that is creating jobs and ensuring our beaches are kept safe.

The 2019/20 Surf Life Saving NSW Annual Report and surf sport results are now available to download from the SLSNSW website.
The 2020 Surf Life Saving NSW Annual General Meeting Presentation is also available to download.

Club Lifesaving Equipment Grants Reimbursement - Open Now!
Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant reimbursements are now open for clubs who have paid all their supplier invoices relating to goods ordered through the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG).
Please email Laura Schuetz copies of paid invoices, along with copy of proof of payment/remittance advices, and a club invoice made out to Surf Life Saving NSW for the full voucher amount. Once received we can commence reimbursement.

Entries are now open for the 2021 Palm Beach SLSC Adrian Curlewis Twilight Masters Carnival, 8 Jan 2021. Entries close 31 December 2020.
2021 NSW Surf Boat Interbranch Championship
The 2021 NSW Surf Boat Interbranch Championship will be held on Sunday 7 February 2021, hosted by Queenscliff SLSC.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Multicultural Beach Safety Awareness Presenter - Casual
The Multicultural Beach Safety Presenter is responsible for assisting Surf Life Saving NSW with the delivery of beach and water safety education programs, both face to face and virtual, to a variety of groups with a key focus on multicultural community groups and those whose first language is not English.
Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!
With over 350 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:

- Seasonal Lifeguards
- Casual Lifeguards.
