(as per notice) Answer MPI will be targeting FCL shipments only- FAK containers will not be targeted for the increased inspection/devan. Topic 2 – Outside Temperature for TreatmentExample We have a container in Italy that needs treatment before it can move to NZ but the outside temperature is less than 10 degrees in Italy therefore not compliant with MPI standards. They only have 2 kind of fumigation there: Heat or Sulfuryl Floride, no other option available. Can you please help clarify this with MPI and what to do in this situation? Answer: You will be able to treat the cargo in Singapore if you choose too. The cargo just needs to be treated offshore by any treatment provider before it gets to New Zealand. The list of treatment providers It is up to the treatment provider to meet the treatment requirements. If they cannot meet the requirements you may need to go to other treatment providers who can.
Topic 3 – Fumigation CertificatesExample Could you please advise if an original fumigation certificate is required for container shipments? Answer: The original fumigation certificate is not required, a copy will be accepted. |
