Meet your AIM Classmates and Faculty

During these times away from campus, it's easy to miss small moments in or between classes that you get to know those around you. Take a moment to meet some of your fellow students and faculty that make up the Accounting and Information Management Department.
 

What do you enjoy most about classes from home?

Though the situation outside is far from ideal, I have really enjoyed all being able to be at home with my daughters. We’ve been able to connect more during meals together and playing board and video games as my schedule has changed, and all of their activities have been canceled for the time being. We’re no longer racing from one activity or commitment to the next. Also, I would never go to an in-person class barefoot, and I do enjoy that freedom.

What is one thing you are doing to help ensure your success in this new environment? (can be academic, mental, physical, or whatever helps you keep your sanity!)

I have started to schedule my time hour by hour so that I do not get lazy, and it helps me stay on track with all of my assignments. It’s a way for me to make sure that I can visually see everything that I need to get done, which usually gives me the will power to get everything finished.

What do you miss most about being on Rocky Top?

I miss most having the interactions between my classmates and teachers. I also miss just walking around campus and sitting outside either on the balcony of Haslam or between SMC and Haslam.

What do you enjoy most about online classes from home?

I love using Zoom! If anyone tries to call me, they should check their email because I sent a zoom link instead! I am Team Zoom for life!

What is one thing you are doing to help ensure your success in this new environment? (can be academic, mental, physical, or whatever helps you keep your sanity!)

Since I’m not in my normal study space, I set up a desk at home. This has definitely helped me to separate between classes and leisure time!

What do you miss most about being on Rocky Top?

I really miss seeing everyone. I miss connecting with both the faculty and students in person! I also love springtime on campus, so I miss getting to see how beautiful campus is this time of year!
