We're all very excited about these two new titles coming out next month, but we know there's been some confusion. Let's clear up a few things, namely when and where you can get it, what the packaging will look like, and what the contents will be.

First you need to understand that we have partnered with Cardinal Games for the licenses on these two titles. Cardinal is publishing their own version of the games in addition to the Looney Labs versions we are publishing ourselves. So the answers to all the above questions depend on which version you are referring to.

Both Marvel Fluxx and Jumanji Fluxx will have the same Fluxx fun you're used to, with some exciting new Actions and New Rules. Jumanji Fluxx will also have a new type of card, called a Danger card! These cards are played like Actions, but the effects can potentially take people out of the game for one turn... because the jungle of Jumanji is a dangerous place!

Both games have the same size cards, and "blue core" card stock, which is slightly different from our usual "black core," but still excellent quality.*** Both games will have a new box size that is significantly larger than a standard Fluxx, with a tray to hold the cards and the included collectible coin!

Now for the differences. The Cardinal box has their logo and is taped shut; the Looney Labs box has our logo, a starburst that says "Specialty Edition with 7 bonus cards," and is shrink-wrapped. It is these seven bonus cards that create the price difference--MSRP on the Cardinal version is $15, the Looney Labs version is $20. Cardinal's version will be in Walmart, Target, and other chain stores; Looney Labs' version will be in all the usual places--game stores, toy stores, book stores, etc. Both versions will be sold on Amazon, so pay attention to get the version you want! The Cardinal version hits stores August 1st, but the Looney Labs version had some delays. We are getting copies into retailers' hands just as fast as we can, but it may take until August 15th to get every store stocked. But not to worry... you'll be enjoying these new titles in no time! Have fun!

***Please note that a small amount of Cardinal games were printed on the wrong card stock. This glitch has already been corrected, and really only matters if you are trying to shuffle decks together. If you happen to get one of those early copies and want it replaced, please contact Cardinal customer service and they'll be happy to help.

Come August 1st, we’ll have two new games hitting shelves: Star Trek Chrono-Trek and Are You A Robot? Chrono-Trek is a very special time travel game based on Chrononauts but set in the world of Star Trek. Andy painstakingly recreated all the major events of Trek history (and the many times they are changed!) for the Timeline. Your mission is to alter that timeline to restore your character’s reality by collecting Artifacts and using the many different forms of time travel encountered by Star Fleet. Everything you want is here: the Guardian of Forever, prune juice, whales, Data’s severed head, Q and his shenanigans, the troublesome Tribbles and even the Devron Anomaly which can destroy all of time and make everyone lose!

As for Are You A Robot?, we’ve made something pretty incredible: a social deduction game that works with just 2 players! Keep your identity a secret and convince the other players you are a Human however you can. Zap any suspicious Robots or shake hands if you’re convinced of their humanity. Robots are programmed not to use weapons but if they manage to trick you into a handshake, they will not let go! This micro-game uses only 3 cards and actually serves 2 or 3 players but if you combine sets you can play an Extended Mode with a large group. Perfect for cons, Extended Mode gives Robots the ability to replace a Human each round and eventually take over the world!

This month we couldn't decide on just one design. Both Andy and Kristin claim to not be robots! They will be available to order for the next two weeks for only $20! Order now, so you can get it on your body later!

Q: Will you be at Gen Con? Where can I find you?

A:  I will indeed be at Gen Con, and look forward to playing a game with you or signing an Andy Looney Keeper for you! We are fortunate enough to have our games in three different booths this year. Our own (tiny) Looney Labs booth will have a small demo area and most of our games for sale. The Gale Force Nine booth will be selling/demoing all of the Star Trek titles--TOS, TNG, DS9, and Chrono-Trek. And the Cardinal/Spinmaster booth will be selling/demoing Marvel Fluxx and Jumanji Fluxx. I will be making appearances at all three booths most days, so you'll need a way to track me down. We will have my schedule posted at the Looney Labs booth and will also put that up on Facebook and Twitter closer to the actual event. Oh, and each day I'll be wearing a different Star Trek outfit... come and tell me what you think of my cosplay!

Matthew Micetic and Evan Halbert after a couple years of joking about the idea, started Red Castle Games, LLC. Those two founding game lovers opened The Nerdery’s doors for business in March 2010. They focus on the kinds of games that encourage community and real face to face human interaction.

Their regulars’ diverse interests and inclusive demeanor create a casual, friendly environment for beginners, grizzled veterans, and just about anyone looking to hang out for an hour. You could walk in and quickly find yourself seated in their sizable gaming area with a few folks inviting you to a game of Hero Quest, Axis & Allies, Dungeons and Dragons, Race for the Galaxy, Dominion, Zombie Fluxx, or anything else from their free-use game library.

They try to provide a pleasant, inviting location for customers to become part of a growing community and discover games new and old!
