Enid Lindeman’s Scandalous Life

A new addition to the library’s collection is a biography of Strathfield girl Enid Lindeman of the Lindeman wine family. Born in 1892, Enid would outlive four husbands, travel the world and count the rich and famous as her friends. During World War I she drove an ambulance in Paris and during World War II smuggled Allied servicemen out of Vichy France. She was also one of the first to visit the tomb of Tutankhamun. Enid adored animals, bred racehorses and in later years was never seen without a meerkat or hyrax on her shoulder. Enid is by Robert Wainwright.
