Teacher of piano/keyboard, saxophone, flute and clarinet. You are warmly invited to attend the first FoTHS meeting for 2019, to be held in the school staffroom on Wednesday 20th February at 7pm. As a parent led group, FoTHS’ role is to support the teachers and school leadership through fundraising activities, assisting with school and community based events, supporting the home – school partnership and providing a link between families and the school. Each year we donate a minimum of $25,000 to the school through our two main fundraising events, Ag Day and Christmas in Karaka. This money is used to support the school in providing essential resources to our children, including increased teacher numbers, teacher aide support and improving the school environment. We also have further fundraising activities including school discos, quiz nights, family movie nights, running raffles, organising calendar art and tea towels and by selling essential products such as first aid kits, swim bags and environmentally friendly produce bags. In the last couple of years FoTHS fundraising has benefited students across the school by subsidising the school swimming lessons and camp fees, providing ice blocks on sports days, free sausage sizzles, funding the new Kapa Haka uniforms and resources in the classrooms. This year we are looking to be even bigger and better so we need your help! There are key roles that will be open to election at the AGM late March, but there are also smaller but no less important parts to be played. Everyone has skills to contribute! Meetings are held monthly during term time and we also have a social catch up at the end of each term. Joining FoTHS is a great way to get to know other parents and caregivers in the school. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 20th February. Please contact Ana Smith Ana Smith asmith7562@aol.com or Nikki Barry fairbarry@gmail.com if you have any queries.
