NOTICES:
Important Notice: From Monday 12th November, the Primary gates will not be opened until 2:55pm ready for a 3:00pm collection. This is due to the fact that many lessons are still taking place at this time and children may be working in the playground. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
Parents should not be waiting in the Front Office reception area after 4:30pm without a staff member. If you are waiting to collect from a club you must wait outside the building. Morning break snacks are to be fruit (fresh, dried etc) not biscuits or cereal bars. Please leave these items for lunch or after school clubs snacks.
It is important that parents model good behaviour for children. Please do not swear or use insulting language in the playground. If a member of staff hears this you will be asked to leave the premises and may be banned. Please also remember that our staff are always working for the best interests of the children. If you would like to discuss
anything regarding your child please speak to the class teacher, Mrs Drummond or Miss Dilger. Please do not shout or be rude to a member of staff as this makes the situation very difficult.

Poet Puppeteers performanceBelow is the link for the photos taken during our performance at Stratford circus. Unfortunately, due to the spiders and staff not being able to access the school site, the performance was not able to be filmed. I do apologise for any disappointment this may cause.
Role Play FunThis week in Reception we have been learning the story of The Nativity. We have been putting actions to the story to try to make it easy to tell and remember. When we felt confident with what happens we mapped the story and added key words using our phonics. Some of us had a lot of fun dressing up and acting out the story for our
friends. Olivia reminded us we need to be quiet when the baby Jesus is sleeping!
Hedgehog HabitatsThis week Year 1 have been working in groups to design and create mini hedgehog habitats for their stop motion conservation videos. They had to work together to include shelter, food and features of a garden. The children used a range of materials to make these features and the end results were
brilliant.
Proud PicassoThis week in Year 2 for our PBL lessons we have been creating abstract portraits of ourselves. We have had lots of fun creating these portraits with oil pastels and have shown all of the different techniques we have learnt. We think Pablo Picasso would be super proud of our work!
Magic MindfulnessThis week the Year 3 children have been using imaginative mindfulness and their fantastic drawing skills to invent their own stories! They have listened to a journey and narrative prompts and created a whole world of their own. They then practised telling the stories in partners and eventually performed their stories to the
whole class, showcasing all the ambitious descriptive language they have learned throughout the project.
Streets of the PastIn Year 4 this week we have been discussing how to make an engaging walking tour. As we approach the final week before the tour, the students have been trying to learn their stories whilst offering feedback to each other. We have also been studying the artwork of Keith Haring in order to create a map of the planned route. The
local walk will start between 1:30 and 1:45 on Wednesday 12th December. Please email your class teacher if you are interested, the more the merrier - friends and family all welcome! We plan to walk to Stratford Park, the train station/Stratford Centre, and up to Vicarage Lane health centre - stopping at areas of interest to hear the children's WW2 stories. Please see the letter sent out this week for more details. In maths we have started our learning on data representation by creating our own pictograms using data gathered from our class. We are moving on to look at bar charts and line graphs next
week.

Phonics - Letter Sound Pronunciation We have recently created some helpful resources for you to use at home, to help you and your child with phonics. Set 1, set 2 and set 3 sounds have been filmed, showing you how to pronounce the different letter sounds correctly, including digraphs (two letters one sound) and trigraphs (three letters
one sound). You can find the videos on the School 21 website, on the primary curriculum page. We hope that you find this useful.
Next Weeks Lunch Menu is Week 2!
Dear Parent/Carer,FREE ‘Magic Breakfast’ for ALL Children! We have been given a grant to support us with our new Breakfast provision which will start on Monday 26th November 2018. One outside the Primary entrance at 8:15am and one outside the Secondary entrance from 7:45am where pupils can take a fresh plain bagel.
