Lift Urban Portland's Monthly eNewsletter Dear Neighbor,Preston Holt served Lift Urban Portland for over 24 years as a board member and volunteer. During his time with us, Preston was integral in the development of many programs that set the foundation of what we do today. Volunteering was ingrained in his heart and he spent countless hours working with a variety of community organizations. In June of 2014, the Lift UP pantry was renamed in Preston’s honor after he received the Volunteer Excellence Award from Oregon Food Bank. The award highlighted Preston’s outstanding contributions toward ending hunger in Northwest and Downtown Portland. Preston passed away on November 18th, 2018. Remembered for his giving character, compassion, and warm personality, Preston was known to say, “The main thing I like about volunteering is working with the program participants.” Join me in remembering Preston and honoring the impact he made on our community at his memorial: Saturday, January 19,
