Spring is finally here and it feels like it's time to get creative, so we've got a contest for you! Head over to our Facebook page and find the Fluxx Blanxx Challenge. To enter, simply comment in the thread with your best house Rules... or Keepers or Surprises or Goals or Actions or Creepers. You can enter a single card or several cards that work together or with other cards in existing decks. Entries can be photographs of filled in Fluxx Blanxx or text describing what cards you would create.
For example, how about a set for Zombie Fluxx that includes a "Bob the Office Zombie" Creeper, a Jonathan Coulton Keeper (counts as a friend), and a new Goal combining the two called Re: Your Brains?
Your turn! Submit your entries by April 5th. We'll narrow it down to the top five entries and then hold a vote in the Looney Labs Chatter group to determine the final winner, who will get a prize package including three Fluxx games of their choice, plus five new packs of Fluxx Blanxx! The winner will be announced on April 10th.

Q: How did you choose the times for Time Breaker?
|
|
A: When I built my first prototype for this game, I picked an initial slate of 24 events in a fairly arbitrary, off-the-top-of-my-head fashion. I chose a lot of the same big important events I’d featured on the Timeline for my original time travel game, Chrononauts, such as the Titanic, the Hindenburg, WW2, even 9-11. Such events provided me with very easy and symbolic imagery to start with.
For several years, as this game rattled around in my prototype bag waiting for its chance at production, I gave little thought to what the final choices for those 24 events should be; I figured we’d hammer that out when the time came.
It turns out that very few of the events I’d originally chosen would make it into the final version. Since we’re a bunch of peace-lovin’ hippies, we decided to reduce the focus on wars, disasters, and violence. While it made sense to focus on such events in my other games, which allow players to use time travel to change and undo such calamities, that’s not what’s going on in Time Breaker.
Instead, we decided to focus on achievements, discoveries, and milestones. We wanted to choose events that would be fun to imagine traveling to, and which might just teach a few things about the significant events in the process.
