From the Page to the StageIt's almost time for the Year 4 children to take to the stage, so this week has been all about learning our speeches and making them interesting to listen to. To help us with this, Mr Hyman (not only our Executive Headteacher, but a professional speech writer) came to work with us! He delivered a speech of his own for us to critique and then gave us some advice on how to hook our audience and how to make it interesting to watch using the physical strand of oracy! We look forward to welcoming along parents, carers and families next Tuesday (20th March) to watch us earn our eloquence patch as we try to change the world with our voices!
Jousting and Shouting This week Year 2 have been learning about the technical vocabulary that was used to describe different Medieval sports such as archery, bowling and jousting. We found out about the different words by discussing Medieval images of the sports as a group and discovering more as we were slowly fed facts by our teacher. We used all of this new vocabulary to commentate on the different sports, making sure that we remembered to vary the pitch, volume and pace of our voice as well. As an extra challenge we tried commentating as a group. This meant that we had to think about taking turns, listening to and questioning each other as part of the commentary.
Autism Awareness Bake Sale!In aid of Autism Awareness Week we will be holding a bake sale from 3:00pm to 3:45pm on Tuesday 27th March to raise money for the National Autistic Society. It will be held outside the green gates leading to the primary playground and all are welcome to attend. We’d be extremely grateful for donations of cakes, cookies and other baked goods. We will be collecting cakes in the morning in reception. Please ensure that any contributions you provide are completely nut-free and suitable for vegetarians. Thank you- Tamanna (Year 11).
It is with great sadness that we announce that Ms Naru will be leaving School 21 after the Easter holidays. She has decided to take a job overseas to widen her experiences. We would like to say a huge thank you to Miss Naru for all the hard work she has done during her time here at School 21, supporting both students and families to ensure everyone is getting the support they need and wish her the best of luck with all of her future endeavours.
Baa Baa-Bring a Parent to School Week! This week in Reception we have had a fantastic time inviting our parents and family into our classrooms for Bring a Parent to School Maths Week! We got to show them how we use concrete objects such as fruit, counters and even balls of wool to help us learn about sharing into equal groups. We used the nursery rhyme "Ba Ba Black Sheep" to help us share out objects into 2 and then 3 groups. The parents got really involved and joined in with all our activities and hopefully have taken away some ideas to do at home!
D3NOMINATORS and NUM3RATORSThis week, Year 3 have begun learning about fractions. We have started learning about unit fractions and describing what the denominator is and what the numerator is. We have used lots of maths equipment to help us represent fractions in different ways.

Rain ain't stopping this Campaign!Year 1’s campaign went exceptionally well with the children sharing important messages with the morning commuters at Stratford station. We attracted a lot of interest and support from visitors in the area. We chanted messages and sang our wonderful recycling song. #letsmakeachange
