A ROUNDTABLE SERIES:
PAID FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Employees often struggle when illness, family obligations, or the poor health of a family member make it difficult to work. This is especially true during the challenging times that have resulted from the COVID-19 crisis. Join WBDC for a two-part Roundtable series exploring our state and federal paid family and medical leave legislation. We'll explain the laws and help you determine what they mean for you, your employees, and your business.

This Roundtable series is hosted by Lt. Governor Susan Byciewicz,
along with WBDC.

Session #1: Connecticut's New Paid Family
and Medical Leave Act

Last summer, Governor Lamont signed into law a Connecticut Paid Family and Medical Leave Program that goes into effect in January 2021 and impacts all businesses with one or more employees. Join WBDC CEO Fran Pastore, along with a panel of experts, to examine the provisions of this new law.

Panelists include Andrea Barton Reeves, Chief Executive Officer, CT Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority, and Britt-Marie Cole-Johnson, Esq., Partner, Robinson & Cole LLP. Meghan Henson, Chief Human Resources Office, XPO Logistics, will moderate the discussion.

Session #2: Paid Leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act

While there has been much focus on the financial resources made available to businesses owners as part of the CARES Act, less attention has been paid to the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act, both parts of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). In Part 2 of our Paid Leave Roundtable series, Fran Pastore sits down with Andrea Barton Reeves, Chief Executive Officer, CT Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority, Britt-Marie Cole-Johnson, Esq., Partner, Robinson & Cole LLP, and Robin Imbrogno, President, The Human Resource Consulting Group, to talk about these emergency paid leaves and what they mean for your employees and your business.
