Principal's Message The term is moving very quickly. You will be able to read about the many activities that have been happening almost every day, both here at school and at outside venues, providing a wide range of experiences for students across all years. Year 9 students are making final preparations for their Gold Coast excursion in Week 7. An exciting time will be had for all involved. Anti Bullying Plan Feedback Campus Principals must ensure that their campus implements an anti-bullying plan that is developed collaboratively with students, school staff, parents, caregivers, and the community, and is reviewed every three years. The current anti-bullying plan was developed in 2017 and expires in 2020. The next parent lounge at Port Macquarie Campus has been schedule for Thursday 7 November. Two sessions will be available for parents at 8.30 am and 5 pm. The agenda will discuss the progress with the Mobile Phone Policy, Curriculum programs across the year groups and feedback on the Anti-Bullying Policy. Parent Portal has been designed for parents to be more informed and in control of information relating to their child's campus. This makes it very easy to monitor and manage all aspects of your child’s education and interaction with their campus. You can also make payments online. Countdown to Christmas Countdown to Christmas is an exciting event held in Port Macquarie’s CBD which aims to bring the entire community together to celebrate the festive season. This year students of Hastings Secondary College are invite to be part of the parade. The much loved community celebration will see Horton Street come alive with the hotly contested Mascot Race followed by the popular and lively Christmas Street Parade. Celebrations will then move to the Town Green where the community can relax with a picnic, get a photo with Santa, experience the lighting of the Christmas tree, enjoy live entertainment and then be wowed by the fireworks spectacular. This year Hastings Secondary College will have a Christmas Float and parade of students represented by both campuses and our six primary schools. All students are invited to be part of the parade and join our partner primary schools to celebrate the countdown to the festive season. Details of the event are:

Be part of building your child's campus community The Port Macquarie Campus P&C Association provided funding SRC students to attend the GRIP conference. Students had a great day at Southern Cross University Coffs Harbour, learning and revising all thigns to do with becoming leaders in our community. We are proud to be able to support our students grow in leadership skills. Be part of your P&C Association.
