Blackroll Activation and Recovery Series

The BLACKROLL and Surf Life Saving NSW Activation and Recovery Series is here to teach surf lifesavers the benefits of rolling and trigger work using rollers, balls and bands. For our last episode, BLACKROLL Australia have prescribed the perfect set of exercises for water athletes.

There are just over two weeks until the 2020 SLSNSW Awards of Excellence!

We can’t wait to celebrate all of our lifesavers' and lifeguards' achievements from the 2019/20 season and you can join in on the celebrations too from the comfort of your own home.

Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant

A reminder that the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant online shop closes Monday 31 August 2020. Circular 3635 and login details have been sent to all Club Administration/Secretary emails. If you have not logged in and placed your orders yet, please do so as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Have you Completed Your Club Insurance Declaration?

Due Friday 14 August - Club presidents and administrators should now have received an email from AUS Surf Life Saving (surflifesaving@marsh.com) with a login and instructions on how to complete this. Marsh staff will be making follow-up calls in the coming week. You can also ask your local Admin/Development Officer if you require further support.

What happens if I did not receive this email?
Send Marsh an email (surflifesaving@marsh.com) requesting the login details and we can resend to the applicable email address.

What if the link is not working in the email?
Upon clicking the link, the declaration may jump to the end. You need to select ‘go back to the beginning’ to ensure all details are filled out correctly.

Rowing Australia Joins 16 Surf Life Saving Clubs for 24 Hour Row

After the success of the Avalon Beach 24 Hour Row over the past two years, the event is expanding in 2020 with a total of 16 Surf Life Saving Clubs, gyms and Rowing Australia signing on to row and raise money and awareness for mental health charities Gotcha4Life and One Eighty from Midday Saturday 22 through to Midday Sunday 23 August.

Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!

With over 350 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:

• Lifeguard Supervisors
• Seasonal Lifeguards
• Casual Lifeguards.

Returning 2019/20 lifeguards must reapply online with their user number and password. To ensure your application is registered please follow the instructions on the Become a Lifeguard page of the Australian Lifeguard Service NSW website.

Australian UAV Service - Paid Positions Now Available!

With a presence in every coastal council, the AUAVS is encouraging SLS members to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:

• UAV Operators (non-RePL)
• UAV Pilots (RePL).

Returning 2019/20 UAV staff are encouraged to reapply. To ensure your application is registered please follow the instructions on the UAV page of the SLSNSW website.
