Parramatta NightsParramatta's largest festival returns in 2022. It's your time to meet up with friends and family for music, food, art, roller skating, live performances, amusement rides and much more in the heart of Parramatta. Term 2 Fitness ProgramJoin our exciting range of free and affordable online and face-to-face fitness activities. Registrations open at 9am on Monday, 4 April 2022. The Term 2 schedule will be released soon, so keep an eye out on our page. Dolphins Swim SchoolRegistrations for the Term 2 Swimming Program are now open for those enrolled into the current term. All other members may enrol from Monday, 28 March 2022. Registrations for the April Holiday Crash Courses open on Monday, 21 March. Over 55s Leisure & Learning ServiceEnjoy an extensive range of exciting and enjoyable physical, recreational and social activities throughout the year. Term 2 registrations open at 9am on Monday, 4 April 2022, with classes commencing later in the month. BookableCouncil has launched a new online booking and ticketing system, ‘Bookable’, that makes booking facilities and purchasing tickets for events easier. Watch the video tutorial on how to create an account, register and make a booking. Explore current events such as children's programs, fitness classes and more. Free Wellbeing WorkoutMood Active's free, 4-week virtual program teaches participants how to start and sustain an exercise routine, what to do when the going gets tough and how to overcome barriers. Co-designed by a psychologist and exercise professional, the program is great for 16-70 year olds who can participate in light exercise. Interested in playing Pickleball?Pickleball courts are available at Binalong Park and West Epping Park, and there are social play groups operating at both facilities throughout the week. New players and beginners are encouraged to attend. Thank you to the facilitators who volunteer their time to run these sessions. Seniors FestivalMany exciting free events will be held across the City. Enjoy exercise classes, a theatre production, cyber safety seminar and the Premier's Gala Concerts. Presented by NSW Government, it will feature many Australian performers like Shannon Noll, Phil Burton from Human Nature, Gary Pinto and more. WestInvest $5 Billion ProgramHelp shape the future of Western Sydney. Our community is being encouraged to provide ideas for the NSW Government's program that will fund infrastructure projects like parks, green spaces, urban spaces, cultural and arts facilities, modernising local schools and more. COMMUNITY CENTRE SPOTLIGHTReg Byrne Community Centre: Corner of Fyall Avenue & Darcy Road, WentworthvilleReg Byrne Community Centre is the ideal venue for social and community celebrations or events such as birthday parties and community functions. RECIPE BOXChocolate PopcornIngredients: 6 cups unsalted air popped popcorn - 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, melted - 1 tsp coconut oil - sea salt Method: Place popped popcorn on a tray lined with baking paper. Stir coconut oil into melted chocolate and pour mixture over popcorn. Gently toss to evenly coat. Sprinkle popcorn with a small amount of sea salt. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Serves 4. GRANT PROGRAMSSport & Recreation GrantUp to $2000 is available from City of Parramatta's Sport & Recreation Grants for projects that increase participation in local sport and recreation activities. The current round closes on 4 May 2022. Grants for Participating in Sporting CompetitionsDid you know that you can receive financial assistance for competing in state, national or international sporting championships as competitors, coaches or officials? City of Parramatta's Representative Sports Grant provides up to $1000 for residents of the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA). For those who don't live in the Parramatta LGA, Sport Australia's Local Sporting Champions provides up to $750 for participants aged 12-18.
