I also hope you’ll consider volunteering with us at the JCC Maccabi Games®, July 29-August 1. After an incredible screening premiere in June, we are so excited to share the MJCCA Spotlight Theatre Company’s latest production, Swampy Meadows with you! Episodes 1 and 2 of this funny web series are currently online and the remaining two episodes will be released this Sunday and the following Sunday! Sincerely, Summer SocialsLuau Pool Party Thurs, July 25, 6:30-8:00 pm Join us for a mid-summer luau at the pool! Come hang out with your friends, swim, enjoy a luau-themed dinner (kosher hot dogs and lots of fresh fruit), and show off your best hula dance! Please register in advance or let us know you’re coming and bring $20. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions at least three days in advance. Drop-off and pick-up at the Sherwin Glass Aquatic Center (outdoor pools). In case of inclement weather, we’ll
move the party indoors for karaoke and games! Social Activities & OutingsAnnual Trip Balance Due Wed, July 31! The deadline to pay your remaining balance for the annual trip is Wed, July 31. This fee covers five days of fun and exciting activities in Virginia, including visits to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown; a day at Busch Gardens; a get-together with the Richmond JCC special needs community; and much more. MJCCA Spotlight Theatre Company presents: Swampy Meadows Episodes 1 and 2 of Swampy meadows are online! The final two episodes will be released on the next two Sundays. This four-part web series is about love, loss, and the magic of camp life, featuring actors from the MJCCA Spotlight Theatre Company. Debra ‘Debbie’ Sonenshine SOAR ProgramsSOAR Bowling Mondays, 6:00-7:30 pm Join us every Monday for a night of Bowling and fun at Bowlmor Lanes at 2175 Savoy Drive, Atlanta! We will not meet on Jewish and national holidays. SOAR Kickball Through July 23 Join the team! We are excited to be offering another season of this fun and social sport. We will learn the rules of the game and then play some ball. Come kick it with us! SOAR Bocce August 27-September 24 If you like bowling, you are sure to enjoy bocce. Learn the rules, play friendly games with your friends, and have fun with this relaxed and social sport. Arts + Culture ClassesGlee Club September 4-October 23 Be part of this fun and energetic singing group! We meet weekly to share a love of music and performance. Participants will learn and practice different musical numbers and mashups. Theater: Onstage and Off September 4-October 23 Back by popular demand, this class will be a fun, no-pressure introduction to the stage and all that goes into creating a theatrical performance. Participants will rehearse and act out scenes from popular plays and musicals and enjoy the camaraderie of working together. Volunteer for the JCC Maccabi Games®! MJCCA is excited to be hosting the 2019 Maccabi Games®, an Olympic-style sporting competition held each summer in North America. It is the second largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world. The Blonder Family Department for Special Needs has committed to providing volunteers throughout the games and we invite our participants to join us for one, two, or more shifts! If you cannot volunteer for a full shift, please let Elizabeth know and we’ll work out a flex schedule for you. After you RSVP here, you will be contacted to complete a volunteer registration form and determine which shift(s) you are available for. Volunteers must be 18 years old by July 29, 2019.
