NEW APP PROVES THAT NOTHING BEATS NATURE

Brand new research from King's College London has found that just a couple of minutes in nature can boost your mood, not just momentarily, but for hours afterwards.

These findings were made possible by using The Urban Mind app which utilises smartphone-based ecological momentary assessment.

This technology enabled researchers to track changes in mood by sending push notifications asking participants where they were at any given moment and how they were feeling.

As more people move into our urban cities, this data has the potential to inform low-cost scalable urban greening solutions aimed at promoting mental health in urban populations.

If you know of someone who would benefit from this data, please share it!

SUPPORTING SOLUTION: LIVING MEMORIES There's something magical about trees

Located at the edge of central Sydney, Prince Alfred Park is both a city park for local workers and a recreational park for residents.

The overriding principle of the design process was to promote landscape over built form, based on a conviction that in these inner urban areas, green space is sacred.

A credit to its design, the park is bustling with visitors from young to old, at all hours of the day.
