Many of you responded to articles and shared memories from the latest edition of the Resplendens magazine. If you didn't receive your copy by mail it means we don't have your address so please do update your details .

“Be creative, speak to as many people as you can about their careers and follow what makes you most excited." Olivia Abrahmsohn (class of 2006) shared her journey and top tips with pupils. If you would like to be part of our Motivational Monday series let us know. 

Book your place now for the Annual Reunion Lunch. We hope this year it will be bigger and better than ever as we welcome staff and alumnae from across the years to celebrate the opening of our new Waterlow Hall.  We already have a number of year group tables (details are on the website) but everyone is welcome.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Music in the Garden event in aid of the Waterlow Hall Campaign. It was a magical afternoon as we celebrated South Hampstead musicians past, present and future.

We were delighted to welcome Maple as a new member of the South Hampstead community last term, but it seems she is not the first dog to cross the school threshold. Let us know if you can remember any of the previous South Hampstead canine friends.

Join our alumnae choir as we rehearse and perform in a day under the expert guidance of our Director of Music, Dr Steve Collisson. It doesn't matter if you were in a choir at school or not, everyone is welcome to 'come and sing' in our new Waterlow Hall as part of our reunion celebrations on March 8th 2020.

Every month we highlight one of our alumnae authors who have published books.

(Re)-capturing Child Like joys, Kindness, Love Island, Summer Holidays and the Hedonic Calculus - just a few of the subjects covered in the Headmistresses' regular blog.

Our sixth formers invite all those who left the school in 2013 and 2014 to join them for reunion drinks on 3rd October. 

Fees were £9 a term. Lessons were mornings only. The headmistress dressed in flowing Liberty prints - Just a few of the memories found in the archive from a student in the 1920's.

We are delighted to introduce our Upper Sixth Alumnae monitors for this year - Rebecca, Isobel (Pictured) Alice and Riyana. They will be helping with events, taking visitors around the school and keeping you up to date with school and alumnae news.  

It was the task of Despina Tsatsas (Class of 2000) to welcome our most recent cohort to the alumnae community at the Leavers' Prize Giving dinner. They have been an outstanding year (see 'Stellar Results') and we look forward to hearing of their future achivements.

If you studied or are studying medicine and can share your experience with our pupils please join our panel on Wednesday 18th September. 

We were delighted to welcome back many alumnae including our panel chair, Adela Gooch OBE (Class of 1979), to discuss 'The future of eduction'.  Our next speaker event will take place in January and all alumnae are welcome to attend. Details will be on the website.

Our alumnae community gives back to South Hampstead in so many different ways and each year, we write to thank you for this support and to update you on plans and projects for the future. The Annual report and campaign will be sent to you in October but if you would prefer not to receive this then please do let us know.

Nina Fowler (Class of 1999) had a stunning exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery earlier this year.  "Luminaries" was a commission from the National Portrait Gallery of portraits of British Film Directors. Nina studied and taught art at South Hampstead and painted the portrait of Jenny Stephen (Headmistress 2002-1013).

We hope you will be as proud of our current pupils as we are. Their results have placed South Hampstead High School in the top 15 in the country for GCSE results and top 20 for A'Level results. 

It is very interesting seeing the layers peeled away from the Waterlow Hall to reveal its history as work proceeds on project. Do you remember the original hall, gas station, fives courts, dining rooms and sportshall that were all previous incarnations of the Waterlow Hall?

We are seeking alumnae involved in the world of environment and sustainability to join our panel on Wednesday 22nd January as part of our Eco-Week. 

Come and have a seasonal drink, catch up with friends and share your experience of university. Your one year reunion will take place on Thursday 10th December.

The GDST Rungway is a careeers mentoring app which allows pupils and alumnae to connect with each other and share questions and advice about future career paths.  Watch the video to find out how you could help and benefit from this service and please do sign up. 

The winners of the GDST Alumna of the Year and Trailblazer competitions will be announced on September 19th. If you would like to nominate an SHHS alumna for either of these awards next year, please do contact us.
