Received this email from a friend? Work continues to plan on the new Portrush Train Station In December we advised that Platform 1 and the Eglinton Street boundary wall would be the focus of work. Now, those platform works are nearing completion and the external cladding of the new building is underway. When completed, this work will set the station apart as a Portrush landmark, making a welcoming impression on visitors to the town. The new station’s atrium-style roof above the main station concourse is now complete which will be a notable feature, providing natural light and creating a welcoming environment for all station users. The series of images selected by public vote during summer 2018 will capture the spirit and essence of the North Coast, showcasing some of our iconic local events along the Eglinton Street boundary wall. These image panels are now in production and we look forward to their installation in the coming weeks, creating another key feature of the station. Translink is looking forward to project completion during Spring 2019, ahead of The 148th Open, Royal Portrush during which they will have robust plans in place to keep the North Coast moving during this busy time. "I am delighted to see the works progressing to plan and perhaps more importantly, to an exceptional standard." Urban Development GrantsFollowing application and award, three projects are now at a construction stage. Details can be viewed on the DfC website. Revitalise ProgrammeOver 120 letters of offer have issued to applicants and work is now progressing at many properties to improve the resort's visual appeal. With just three applications still under consideration, the anticipated total Revitalise spend will be around £460k. Educating on STEM and site safety Working together, Translink and GRAHAM, have hosted a number of local school and community visits in recent months. These provide a great opportunity to promote an interest in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) whilst also addressing the importance of safety and the dangers of playing in or near any working construction site. Procurement award finalist Together, FP McCann Ltd, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and the Department for Communities have been selected as a finalist for the GO Buy Social/Sustainable Procurement Award – Construction.
