Coronavirus Information and Resources
A number of key updates were made to the SLSNSW Coronavirus webpage on 22 October, including updated information on outdoor gatherings, restaurant bookings and gyms.
Surf Life Saving specific COVID-19 Safety Plan Templates (updated 22 October) are available to download from Dropbox. Please download the Summary of Changes document and ensure you familiarise yourself with the updated information found on the SLSNSW Coronavirus webpage.
Welborn and Verco Claim Inaugural Coolangatta Gold at Bate Bay Titles
Newport’s Lizzie Welborn and North Bondi’s Charlie Verco have taken out the inaugural open division of the Coolangatta Gold at Bate Bay in Sydney's Sutherland Shire, New South Wales.
The 25km event attracted 315 competitors in both individual and team events across Open, Masters and Youth events.
Success at Australian Pride in Sport Awards
Chairman of Lifesavers with Pride and North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club member, Gary Driscoll, recently won the Out Role Model of the Year Award at the 2020 Australian Pride in Sport Awards for his role in promoting Surf Life Saving as a safe, inclusive and welcoming movement.
Heart Attack Victim Rescued in Remote Location
An outdoor adventure guide and a group of students and school teachers he was leading were rescued in remote Kataway Bay on Sunday after the guide suffered what is suspected to have been a heart attack.

2020 Beach to Bush Presenters
Due to an overwhelming response from schools this year, SLSNSW is calling for more enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to present our annual iconic Beach to Bush program.
This year's tours are scheduled to commence from 9 November. If you're enthusiastic and passionate about Surf Life Saving and prepared to spend a week in the bush spreading the beach safety message, please register your interest below.

2020 Envirobank NSW Super Team Series
Round two of the 2020 Envirobank NSW Super Team Series will be hosted by Bulli SLSC on Saturday 7 November. Visit the event webpage for all the up-to-date event information.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
Envirobank Pop-Up and Collection Schedule Updates
With the patrol season in full swing, Envirobank will begin the peak season pop-up and collection schedule from the 1 November 2020. Any additional collections during the season incur a $10 fee and can be scheduled by contacting Alister at amarnoch@envirobank.com.au or on 0477 020 088.

Multicultural Beach Safety Awareness Presenter - Casual
The Multicultural Beach Safety Presenter is responsible for assisting SLSNSW with the delivery of beach and water safety education programs, both face to face and virtual, to a variety of groups with a key focus on multicultural community groups and those whose first language is not English.
COVID SurfCom Officer - Casual
The purpose of this role is to provide information on the status of beach capacity and operational incidents to media and other stakeholders. In addition, and drawing on data available via the Surfcom system, the role will ensure online information sources including the BeachSafe App are kept up to date.
First Aid Trainer
We are seeking a well-presented and professional First Aid Trainer with excellent communication skills to join our Academy First Aid Training team. The Australian Lifesaving Academy New South Wales (ALA NSW) is the commercial First Aid Training arm of Surf Life Saving NSW and is a respected provider of accredited First Aid Training in New South Wales.
Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!
With over 350 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:
- Lifeguard Supervisors
- Seasonal Lifeguards
- Casual Lifeguards.
