Covid 19 Response at School 21

To follow on from previous communications to all parents from the school regarding Covid 19, we would like to inform all parents of the actions that the school are implementing, which are in line with the guidelines set out for us by the Government and Department of Health.

As a school we are:

- Ensuring all students are using sanitiser before eating lunch by lining up to use the dispensers before collecting cutlery

- Have provided soap/hand wash in all classrooms for students to use throughout the day to wash their hands

- All staff are reminding all students to wash their hands after using the toilets

- All staff are reminding all students of the 'catch it, bin it, kill it' habit

- Displaying posters as visual reminders to all students to wash their hands

- Have implemented extra cleaning cycles throughout the day to check soap dispensers in toilets and refill where needed

- Extra cleaning every morning with a special focus on door handles

- Asking all external visitors to complete a declaration regarding their own travel and contact with others who have traveled to any identified hot spots

- Keeping a close eye on student and staff absences

We will continue to follow all guidance and update you regularly with any changes the school intends to make. We thank you for your continued support during this time.

*Reception Bikes

Please can parents ensure your children are not riding the Reception bikes before and after school. These bikes are a learning resource specifically designed for Reception aged students to learn coordination and gross motor skills. These are very expensive resources which we would not be able to replace if damage was done to them due to older/heavier children riding them. We thank you in advance for your support in this.

DO NOT RIDE THE RECEPTION BIKES BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL PLEASE

Reminder

Please do not allow your child to bring toys or games to school, as this can lead to items being lost or damaged and students getting upset.

History Week

Tuesday 17th March: History Timeline Day

Each class will explore a different era of history, creating a large piece of art to represent this era and present to the rest of the school at the end of the day. We will turn these into a whole school history timeline to permanently display in the hall. Children are encouraged to dress up in clothes suitable to the era they're exploring! Please speak to your child's class teacher if you are unsure which era your child's class will be focusing on.

Tuesday 17th March 3:15pm - 3:45pm : Artefact Workshop - Cancelled

What can we learn about the past through objects? Come and have a hands on experience handling artefacts, thinking about what they might have been used for and what they can tell us about the past.

Wednesday 18th March: Artefact Workshops - Cancelled

Year 1 - 4 will take part in artefact workshops getting hands on with objects from the past. They will explore what questions you can ask about artefacts to help us discover what the past was like.

Spare Clothes

If your child has borrowed any clothes from our spare clothes box please bring them back as soon as possible as we have very little left. (eg if they have wet themselves)

If you have any trousers, skirts or tights that you could donate that would be wonderful.

Also if you would like to donate new children’s underwear that would be amazing.

Lights, Camera, Action!

This week we started filming our expert space videos to mark the end of our project and a celebration of everything we have learned. We have been practising our oracy  skills all week, particularly focusing on clear speaking and using gestures and actions. We are very excited to see what will happen to the green screen during editing!

Terrible Tudors

Year 3 have been working tirelessly on their performance product about Henry VIII's six wives. Using space, physicality, voice, blocking and levels, they have been applying their knowledge of the Tudor era to create some impressive scenes and have even written some very professional play scripts!

Hundreds or Hundredths?

We started this week by exploring the value of hundredths in comparison to tenths and ones. We represented decimals in dienes and on a place value chart and wrote sentences explaining the value of each of the digits in a decimal. We progressed to ordering different decimals by carefully comparing the value of each digit.

Ebo Excellence Certificate Winners

Well done to the students who were recognised for going above and beyond in showing our core value of excellence! Ebo is very proud of Jojo, Jasmine, Alyssia, Aya, Aubrey, Joelma, Amir, Joshua, Laylah, Leo, Nabila, Aaria, Martina, Aayan and Jasper!!
