Didi Chuxing Bought Uber In China For $35 Billion
Uber, a San Francisco-based technology startup focused on online transportation just sold its Chinese operation to DiDi Chuxing. In this merger deal, Didi will make a $1 billion investment in Uber global at a $68 billion valuation, while Uber China's investors will own 20% of the merged Chinese company, which will be worth $35 billion.

Salesforce buys word processing app Quip for $750M
Salesforce is continuing its buying spree to expand the kinds of cloud-based apps and services that it offers to its customers beyond basic CRM. The company has just announcedthat it is acquiring Quip, the cloud-based word processing app that was co-founded by Bret Taylor, formerly CTO of Facebook. We understand from two sources very close to the deal that the total price is $750 million.
