2014 Voiceless Media Prizes

Have you read, seen or heard an excellent report this year?

Nominations are now open for the $15,000 Voiceless Media Prizes as we celebrate outstanding journalism that contributes to animal protection.

The Media Prizes recognise the most accurate and influential reports on factory farming, kangaroo hunting, animal law, live export and other important issues that affect animals in Australia.

Sponsored by the Dalwood-Wylie Charitable Foundation, the Prizes include $5,000 for the best print journalism, $5,000 for the best broadcast journalism and $2,500 for the runner-up in each category.

You can nominate any story published or broadcast on or after Friday 25 October 2013 which:

  • Addresses factory farming, food labelling and certification, live export, animal law, hunting, animal experimentation, animals in entertainment (zoos, circuses and rodeos), animals killed for fashion; or
  • Builds public understanding of animal sentience; or
  • Examines the ethical relationship between human and non-human animals.
