Click here In the 2021-22 fiscal year, nearly 6,000 Seattle University alumni and friends contributed $23M in support of our students, faculty and numerous priority programs and initiatives. This support has been instrumental in providing the resources our SU community needs to forge the next generation of leaders, innovators and educators for a more just and humane world, and in strengthening SU’s uniquely rigorous, mission-driven student experience. The entire SU community is grateful for our alumni and donors who believe in the value of a Jesuit education and the many ways in which you support our work and our students. We
invite you to read the 2021-22 fiscal year Donor Impact Report illustrating how these gifts are making an impact across campus. But a life-changing gap year spent volunteering at St. Mary’s Mission on the Colville Indian Reservation near Omak, Wash., would alter her journey, launching Hayes on a career path that would end 49 years later where it began, on the Colville Indian Reservation, and inspire her generous gift to Seattle University’s Indigenous Peoples Institute. Read Susanna’s inspiring story. TAKING ACTION FOR THE PLANET AND PEOPLEIn 2015, with the encyclical Laudato Si’ “On Care for our Common Home,” Pope Francis put forth an urgent call for the planet, urging “all people of goodwill” to take care of the Earth amid a global ecological crisis. From this a concrete action project was born, underpinned by a multi-year commitment that, as Pope Francis wrote, “will involve our communities in different ways, so that they can become totally sustainable in the holistic spirit of integral ecology.” Learn more about how Seattle University was one of several Catholic institutions to respond to the Pope’s call and sign on to participate in the Laudato Si’ Action Platform.
