@Convertehealth ![]() May 2021NEWSLETTER![]() Update from the team at ConverteSowing is well underway across the country and with some optimism that a good winter cropping season is off and running. Land values are on the up and rural Australia continues to pull well above its weight in the Australian economy. Being nimble to changes in trade agreements, embargoes or extreme weather will continue to keep the entire Ag industry on its toes. Once the seeds are in the ground there is a small window to consider fertiliser regimes and the efficiency of applied NPK inputs is becoming a hot topic. The reason behind this is the rise of biological based inputs that improve soil function and nutrient transfer. So when putting out DAP, MAP or high N inputs such as urea, consider adding Converte Plantfood or fulvic acid to improve the efficiency of the fertiliser uptake. This fine tuning of fertiliser inputs offers other benefits associated with improved soil function and health. Top in this list are moisture retention and frost protection, more on frost resilience below. We have been busy setting up new production lines in our Griffith factory and are ready to expand our team with the appointment of a NSW Manager and two further jobs advertised to strengthen our team. Farmer field days are back on and we look forward to cathing up with you across NSW, Victoria and WA in the coming months. Best Wishes to all & Stay Safe Canola trial underway Boree Creek NSW This March Converte has been working with one of our regular customers to set up a comprehensive Canola trial at Boree Creek, NSW. Six treaments (each about 6 ha) have been set up with combinations of the Converte Seed Primer and Plantfood. We are also testing double rates of the Plantfood (500ml/ha) which have produced excellent results in small test areas on Canola in the central West of NSW and also on pastures. We expect the best results to be achived when both the seed primer and plantfood are applied, conistent with our findings on wheat trials. This trial will be monitored closely from early establishment to harvest and the results will be available later this year. Anyone interested in having a Converte trial including drone based mapping, please get in touch. ![]() ![]() Converte WA Move on farmLuke Peacock has been leading the charge for Converte in WA over the last few years and he has now moved on farm in Donnybrook WA. Redtail Ridge Organic Farm is a picturesque, organically (NASAA) certified farm, bounded by the upper reaches of the Preston River and the Mumballup State forest. The farm is located 3km from the Forrest Tavern or Mumby Pub and 25km from Collie. The land is 97 hectares of pastures and olive groves with irrigation water from a 30,000 m3 dam. We are excited to work with Luke to create a Converte show farm and a location for field days as well as another product pick up for our WA customers. We will keep you posted for on farm field day notices and paddock walks!! Luke can be reached at: luke.peacock@converte.com.au ![]() ![]() CONVERTE Cotton Trial Harvest - Boggabri NSWIn the first week of May we will be getting data off this Cotton trial at Boggabri NSW. This is our first Cotton trial and extends from our on-going Cotton RDC project with the University of Western Sydney which is investigating the role of microbial based seed dressings in reducing the incidence of fusarium infections in cotton crops. In our next newsletter we will report on the results, including crop health, yield and soil health properties associated with this trial. ![]() 2021 Cropping Focus: Frost Protection, Fertiliser Efficiency, Yield and Low Screenings![]() Over multiple on farm trials Converte Seed Primer and Plantfood keep delivering consistent results in frost protection, enhanced fertiliser efficiency of applied or in ground nitrogen and phosphorus, increased heads and less screenings. On this WA trial the screenings were as low as 3.39 % (plantfood treated) against 4.8% in the untreated. Stem lengths were 70mm taller with an average of one extra head of wheat. Stem thickness was measured at 4.8mm (plantfood treated) against 3.5mm in the untreated. The extra biology and associated nutrient / moisture availability and transfer helps growers achieve healthier plants that are stronger and more resilient to frost. Adding plantfood at 250ml / ha at a cost of around $15 / ha and at the same time reducing fertiliser rates based on enhanced efficiency, provides an economic model for driving yield and resilience hand in hand. ![]() ![]() ![]() CONVERTE Premium Fulvic AcidConverte is pleased to offer our clients one of the world’s most concentrated fulvic acid products for improved soil function and fertiliser efficiency. This fulvic is derived from a natural mineral deposit some 30 million years old. It is comprised of freshwater layers and oceanic layers of sediment. The soil became a rich humus from countless undisturbed life cycles eventually producing a concentrated variety of organic acid molecules. This fulvic acid complex as extracted from the earth contains a mineral and organic acid profile different to that of fulvic extracted from lignite, leonardite and fermented peat. There are no contaminants that can be associated with fossil fuel based fulvic resources. Our premium fulvic source contains more than 70 trace elements and minerals and as many electrolytes, naturally occurring amino acids, vitamins and organic acids. Small doses can be added to your fertiliser and soil health programs with great results. ![]() ![]() Going Global NSW - Agribusiness Export ProgramIn January 2021 Converte was successsfully granted a place in the 10 month NSW Treasury Going Global Export program.
