DCD Retrained Dancer Michael Berkin hosts seminar for ballet teachersDCD supported Michael Berkin, who performed with Northern Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet, in 2011 to complete the 'Ballet in Education' course, and in 2013 towards the cost of his degree in Business Studies. Michael went on to establish his own dance teaching business, Professional Dance Experience, and is now offering a Ballet Teacher Seminar on Sunday 24th May in Leeds.

Applications open for 2015 Dancers' and Dance Teachers Mentoring Dance UK, supported by Arts Council England and working in partnership with Dancers’ Career Development, the National Dance Teachers Association (NDTA) and Youth Dance England, is now accepting applications for the 2015-16 mentoring programmes. Open to dancers and dance teachers in England, Wales and Scotland who have been identified by their peers as future leaders, the
successful applicants will be matched with high-level mentors to identify their skills and areas of interest and develop leadership potential.

panel discussion ‘Career Transition for Dancers: Thinking Big’ at Dance UK’s industry wide conference for dance, The Future: New Ideas, New Inspirations. Our panellist included, amongst others, Mark Baldwin, Artistic Director of Rambert, Dr Anne Hogan, Director of Education at the Royal Academy of Dance and Amanda Hancox, Executive Director of the Dancer Transition Resource Center in Canada.
