Dear member,
This episode of the digest is full of success stories. Future Fields appointed Dr Michael Houghton to its advisory board. As Matt, CEO of Future Fields mentioned, “his expertise and experience with recombinant protein production will be incredibly impactful (for Future Fields)”. Nanostics received the CE-IVD Mark for its ClarityDX Prostate® test. This is a regulatory milestone for Nanostics that will allow them to market and sell ClarityDX Prostate® in Europe, as well as other countries that require the CE Mark for market access. And Naiad Lab released their first product NAIAD-DETECT. Congratulations, all.
Our last Health Innovators’ Meetup was also highly successful. We had an amazing panel of entrepreneurs and innovators who had taken their product from the lab to the market. The audience was engaged, the questions were thought-provoking, and the networking was stellar. Preetam, CEO of Synapsis Medical is this episode’s Meet Our Community member. He is “an Engineer and Problem solver focused on improving the state of circulatory system assessment”. Synapsis Medical is a pre-seed startup that builds sensors and algorithms for heart health and is always looking for mentors and advisors. In his words, “all of the great resources offered by the Health Innovation Hub are one of the main reasons for me joining. Specifically, the mentorship opportunities have been a standout.”

Health Innovation, to me, is all about delivering solutions that have a positive impact on as many people as possible.
2. In your opinion, what is the state of the health innovation ecosystem in Alberta, Canada and globally?
Health innovation ecosystem is growing rapidly everywhere. So many interesting companies and products are being developed both in Alberta and in Canada.
3. What motivated you to join the Health Innovation Hub?
All of the great resources offered by the Health Innovation Hub are one of the main reasons for me joining. Specifically, the mentorship opportunities have been a standout.

I am an Engineer and Problem solver focused on improving the state of circulatory system assessment.
5. What is the one thing you are most excited about right now?
I am excited by the opportunity I have to contribute to the evolving health innovation ecosystem in Canada.
