Top NSW Lifesavers Honoured at the 2020 State AwardsThe achievements of Surf Life Saving NSW’s finest were celebrated at the annual Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence on Saturday 29 August. Over 180 finalists, along with their friends, family and the wider Surf Life Saving community, took part in the virtual awards ceremony. Mona Vale SLSC Welcomes First Ever Female PresidentIt has been a big year for Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. Designs for a new club house have been approved, planning is underway for the club’s 100-year anniversary celebrations and members recently elected their first-ever female Club President, Paula Tocquer. Surf Lifesavers Finalists in Rotary Emergency Services Community AwardsFour volunteer surf lifesavers were among the 28 emergency service personnel announced as finalists in the Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards 2020 by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott last week. 24 Hour Row Raises Over $130,000 to Save LivesThe 24 Hour Row for Mental Health has successfully raised $130,000 after a marathon effort by surf clubs throughout the country. In what was an outstanding achievement, more than 600 surf club and community members from 18 locations across four states kept rowing machines going for 24 hours. The total distance rowed was over 11,884km. Surf Life Saving Australia launches Virtual Coolangatta GoldThe iconic Coolangatta Gold race will be going virtual in 2020, after Surf Life Saving Australia made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining elite category due to the current border restrictions in place due to COVID-19. Wingman Donates Products to NSW Surf Life Saving ClubsThank you to Wingman Beers who went dry for July and donated products to some of our NSW Surf Life Saving Clubs, giving clubs the opportunity to use the proceeds to support their life saving work. BLACKROLL Activation & Recovery Series: Week One - IRB AthletesWith the official patrol season set to begin on Saturday 26 September, it's important that our surf lifesavers are rescue ready.
