Hi everyone, Hanging in the Regional Arts Victoria office near my desk is an image by Melissa Powell. In it, two aerialists are tumbling down a silo, into the safe hands of a large shadow projected behind them. It’s a great shot, but I’ve stopped to look at it more frequently in the last month for a different reason. The work in the image, Space and Place, was developed and performed by Y Space at Meeting Place, Horsham, in October 2004 – the last time Regional Arts Victoria hosted what is now Artlands in Victoria. This month, Artlands returns, this time to Bendigo and Castlemaine – and it is not too late to register for four-day and single-day tickets. What is the image; the work; the inspiration from Artlands in 2018 we will look back on in another 14 years hence? What role do we play in that conversation, and who drives us through 2018 to 2032? We have much to discuss between now and then. Let’s talk. See you at #ArtlandsVictoria. Joe Toohey

Contrast in Space Making"The first thing I noticed when arriving in the Pilbara was the incredible contrast between the burnt red earth and the clear blue sky. The colour of the landscape is something you don’t see very often on this planet. I had the pleasure of heading west to attend Performing Arts Connections (PAC) Australia’s annual Performing Arts Conference. This year, held in Karratha..." - Dale Packard, Touring Services Manager
