Coronavirus Updates and Resources
On Monday 23 November 2020 it became mandatory for certain types of businesses (including hospitality venues, food and drink premises, pubs, small bars, registered clubs and function centres) to use QR codes or other electronic check-in methods to collect patron details. The new rules also apply to events including corporate events, funerals (and gatherings after funerals) and weddings. Find out more on the SLSNSW Coronavirus webpage.
From Tuesday 1 December 2020 up to 50 people can gather outdoors in a public space (currently 30). The COVID-19 Information Pack for Lifesaving (and Summary of Changes) will be updated to reflect this on 1 December.
From Tuesday 1 December 2020 small hospitality venues (up to 200 square metres in size) will be allowed to have one person per two square metres indoors.
Clubs are encouraged to update their COVID-19 Safety Plans to reflect these new requirements.
Surf Life Saving Foundation - Adopt an Hour Campaign
This summer, the Surf Life Saving Foundation (SLSF) is rolling out a new national fundraising campaign called “Adopt an Hour.” The campaign is about educating the public on the amount of hours that surf lifesavers volunteer on average each patrolling season.

Off Duty Lifesavers Heroes in Family Rescue
Three surf lifesavers have emerged as heroes after they rescued seven members of a family caught in a rip at Woonona Beach near Wollongong.

Multi-Million Dollar Forster Surf Club Announced
On Tuesday 24 November, the NSW State Government announced a $2 million grant to upgrade the Forster Surf Life Saving Club.

Tesalate - Black Friday Sales
With the start of Summer next week, Tesalate are showing their support for volunteer lifesavers patrolling NSW beaches by donating 10% of all Black Friday Sales profits to SLSNSW. Black Friday sales run from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November.
SLSA Safeguarding Feedback Forums
SLSA have engaged Morgan Lander to coordinate an audit of the SLSA Safeguarding framework. He will be hosting a number of Safeguarding Feedback Forums for different membership groups including Presidents, Patrol Captains, Age Managers/Parents and Youth Members.

Club Lifesaving Equipment Grants Reimbursement - Open Now!
Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant reimbursements are now open for clubs who have paid all their supplier invoices relating to goods ordered through the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG).
Please email Laura Schuetz copies of paid invoices, along with copy of proof of payment/remittance advices, and a club invoice made out to Surf Life Saving NSW for the full voucher amount. Once received we can commence reimbursement.
ClubsNSW Clubs & Community Awards - Submissions Open Until 22 January 2021
The Clubs & Community Awards are an opportunity to share the stories, celebrate them and recognise the outstanding contributions made by clubs. Encompassing all activities and initiatives from March 2019 to December 2020 (all stories submitted in the postponed year will be rolled over into the 2021 program).

Events
2020 Envirobank NSW Super Team Series - Round Two Cancellation
Surf Life Saving NSW wishes to advise that the second round of the Envirobank Super Team Series will not be rescheduled. This difficult decision was made based on the overwhelming feedback received from the athlete survey, which went out in early November, and the lack of ability to find a date in the new year to run the postponed round which would be fair and inclusive of all stakeholders.
Round three will continue as scheduled on Saturday 5 December at Umina SLSC.
2021 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships Update (26 November 2020)

2020/21 Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series - Qualification Round
Good luck to the NSW athletes competing this weekend at Kingscliff for the 2020/21 Nutri-Grain Series Qualification Round! Eight positions (in both male and female sections) are up for grabs through heats and finals.

Entries are now open for the 2021 Palm Beach SLSC Adrian Curlewis Twilight Masters Carnival, 8 Jan 2021. Entries close 31 December 2020.
Manly LSC Nipper Nats
Due to the current health guidelines Nipper Nats will now be held over 2 days – 16-17 January 2021. A full program and entry details will be announced shortly.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
