Bin Your Butts to Prevent Fires

Pollution problems combined this week on Albert Road with a pile of rubbish illegally dumped set alight by a discarded cigarette butt. Fortunately a resident was on hand to put out the fire. Careless acts such as these pose a significant fire risk and pollute our natural environment. Contact Council for a free personal cigarette bin today and report tossers to the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

Hudson Park Golf Course Closure

From March 2019, the Hudson Park Golf Course will be permanently closed and work will commence on an Urban District Park. The Strathfield District Park will include a new driving range, sports courts, a playground, picnic areas, scenic lake, substantial tree planting and a café. The home of the Spurway family, ‘Orara’ Burlington Road in Homebush was built c.1910. George Spurway was raised in the Dundas area and was also a grandson of “Granny” Smith (Mary Ann Smith), who raised the famous apple which bears her name.
