Recognised Agencies and Persons
Following the 2019 public consultation, a 2020 targeted consultation with verifiers and their managers, and a careful analysis of feedback received, we've issued the Food Notice: Recognised Agencies and Persons. Both summary of submissions are available on this MPI consultation page.
Food Safety Officer Warrant Renewals
Territorial Authority-based food safety officers are reminded to check the expiration dates of their Food Act 2014 instruments of appointment (warrants). Apply for warrant renewal by completing the SA2 Statutory Appointment Application form from the Working as a food safety officer page.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CPD Year Has Begun
The next period for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for verifiers began on 1 October. All verifiers need to log onto the new Food Safety Academy (formerly the Food Verifiers Academy) on Tiritiri and navigate to the My CPD Records page. Verifiers need to complete the first two steps of the CPD programme by 30 November 2020. Read more.
Food Residues Survey Programme
New Zealand Food Safety’s Food Residues Survey Programme (FRSP) began a 2020-2021 sampling and testing survey for New Zealand plant-based foods on 12 October 2020. For details of how the survey is conducted and past results, visit the FRSP web page. Read more.
