Cooks River Fun Run

Strathfield’s favourite running event went off with a bang last Sunday, with a record number of participants and records in several categories smashed! A big thank you to everyone who came along and especially to our great sponsors – Cooks River Alliance, Socca Joeys, Vision PT North Strathfield, Scooda, Pancakes on the Rocks, Snap Burwood, Sold Out, Be Natural and Runner’s World.

Greener Future

Well done to local supermarkets who have banned single use plastic bags! This initiative will see the removal of more than 3.2 billion plastic bags from circulation every year, which will make a positive impact on our environment. Don’t forget to bring your reusable bags when doing your grocery shopping!

There are several road rules involving mobile phones you need to know. Stay informed, drive safe and avoid hefty fines by keeping up to date with rules for learner, P1, P2, motorcyclists and fully licensed drivers.

St Anne’s Playground

Council have commenced the installation of a new playground at St Anne’s Reserve today including new equipment, wet-pour rubber, sandstone logs and seating. Works are scheduled to be completed by Friday 20 July (weather permitting).

Fixing Footpaths

Duke Street footpath is currently undergoing repairs between Beresford Road and Albert Road to better service the local residents. Keep an eye out for road works in your area in the Public Notices section of Council’s website.

The July Council meeting will be held next Tue 3 July at 6.30pm in Strathfield Council Chambers.
