Lifesavers to the Rescue in Flood EmergencyOnce again, Surf Life Saving volunteers have stepped up to assist the community in a time of crisis. Since widespread flooding began to unfold with torrential rains impacting from 20 March 2021, Surf Life Saving and Australian Lifeguard Service assets, resources and personnel have been assisting other emergency services in all affected areas, bringing a range of response capabilities to bear on the one in one-hundred-year event. Quick Thinking Lifesavers and Lifeguards Awarded NSW Rescue of the MonthSunday 27 December 2020: Near-record crowds flock to Sydney’s beaches after a wet Christmas. Surf Life Saving Sydney Support Ski operator Kane Hughes described the day as the busiest he had experienced in a long time along the Bate Bay stretch. Inclusive Athletes Shine in Surf and SandOn Sunday 28 February, 35 members from 16 clubs across the state came together to compete in the Inclusive events at the 2021 NSW Age Championships proudly supported by Your local club.

Nippers Save Mates Life at State ChampsFor three young Nippers from South Maroubra SLSC, the 2021 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships, proudly supported by Your local club, was a State Champs they’ll never forget. North Curly Claims Junior State Surf TitleAfter a full four-days of racing in the 2021 NSW Age Championships, proudly supported by Your local club, Sydney’s North Curl Curl SLSC retained the title in a decisive show of strength across all age divisions. Eight Straight State Titles for NewportNewport’s stellar performance over three days of racing, including winning both the Open Male and Female Iron events, looks to have secured them an incredible eighth straight NSW Championships title.
Masters of Surf and SandMore than 800 of the state’s fittest and fastest Masters competitors braved both scorching sun and squalls of rain to show they’ve still got what it takes after a big two days at the NSW Masters Surf Life Saving Championships, proudly supported by Your local club, at Swansea Belmont. Sharks Saving Lives in New PartnershipSurf Life Saving NSW has teamed up with Madimack in the fight to prevent drownings by running our successful CPR course, Living Room Lifesaver with the Cronulla Sharks. The Lifesaving Events of State ChampsThe 2021 NSW Lifesaving Championships continue to draw the top lifesavers in the state to compete in the Rescue & Resuscitation (R&R), First Aid, Patrol Competition and Champion Lifesaver events.
