Hana is a Chartered Accountant and worked most recently as a Senior Accountant at Deloittes in Rotorua. Veronica Waiari (Ngati Awa, Ngai Te Rangi, Ngati Ranginui me Tapuika, shown right) has joined us part time as the Finance Administrator and will also be in the office two days a week. Veronica previously worked for BDO as a Junior Accountant. They are looking forward to meeting you all at the next shareholders meeting. NEW SERVICE OFFERING We are excited to announce that we now able to provide technical advice to growers as a part of our Te Awanui service offering. Te Awanui has engaged Bryan Grafas (large scale kiwifruit grower and ex Seeka General Manager, Orchard Division) as ‘Technical Advisor’. Bryan brings a wealth of practical and strategic capability to the team at Te Awanui Huka Pak. He is available to our shareholder and client growers for advice on existing or development orchards, G3 tendering and conversion and selection and review of key persons. MIRO LIMITED PARTNERSHIP In the last panui we provided an overview of the Miro LP investment opportunity. Since then, the Te Awanui team have been working hard alongside a number of trusts from Tauranga Moana most of whom are shareholders, to complete the due diligence on the proposal. It has been a long but positive experience and have now formed ‘Tauranga Moana Miro Limited Partnership’ as our vehicle for investment. We’re excited about the opportunities that this new initiative brings for our people and are encouraged to see Tauranga Moana taking leadership and working together as a collective on what will be a transformational change for Māori within the horticultural industry. The inaugural berry grower field day, hosted by BerryCo was held in Te Puna earlier this week which was an opportunity for Limited Partners to see first hand at what's invovled in the set up and running of a succesful berry operation. We will brief you in further detail at the next shareholders meeting.
