Preparations for the 19th Annual OLV B.A.L.L. are well under way. You may have noticed the Wall of Giving by the gym, which is a new and easy opportunity to make a donation that will fit in any budget. Sponsorships are also available and include some very attractive benefits. Our students have even been working on the mosaic crosses under the direction of Mrs. Mae Martin and Ms. Wheeler.
As we have said before, it takes MUCH participation to make this event successful. If you have not yet found a way to become involved, there is still much left to do. Please contact our B.A.L.L. Chairperson, Katie Ceasar at ballchair@olvball.com to see where you may be able to help. There are many small tasks that require minimal time commitment.
Make sure you save the date for this event! You will not be disappointed!

2nd Grade Toy Sale

Culminating a unit on money, our 2nd grade class recently held a "Trash to Treasure" sale. Students gathered toys they no longer played with, priced them, and set up shop at their desk. Through this activity, skills in counting money and making change were honed by students. Aside from the excitement of acquiring "new" toys, the children were able to learn about helping others as all money earned from the sale was donated to Oak Mountain Missions to support the less fortunate in our community.

February Virtue of the Month...Foresight

The virtue for February is foresight. The meaning of the virtue as it will be presented in lessons is, "Consideration of the consequences of one's actions; thinking ahead". Here's what the focus will be by age group:
Grades PreK-2: Think about the options.
Grades 3-5: Learn how to gather information to make a decision; plan ahead for projects.
Grades 6-8: Pray, think, act; learn how to gather information to make a decision; plan out long-term and short-term goals.
