Yuanfudao, a Beijing-based online tutoring service, closed a $2.2 billion Series G1 and G2 financing, increasing the company’s valuation to $15.5 billion. Tencent and DST Global led the rounds, which included participation from Hillhouse Capital, Boyu Capital, IDG Capital, CiticPE, GIC, Temasek, TBP, DCP, Ocean Link, Greenwoods and Danhe Capital.
Tekion Corp., a San Ramon, Calif.-based automotive retail platform, scored $150 million in Series C funding at a valuation of more than $1 billion. Advent International led the round, with participation from Index Ventures, Exor NV, Airbus Ventures and FM Capital. Advent’s Eric Wei and former Lyft Inc. and Tesla executive Jon McNeill joined the company’s board.
AavantiBio Inc., a Gainesville, Fla.-based gene therapy startup, launched with $107 million in Series A funding from Perceptive Advisors, Bain Capital Life Sciences, RA Capital Management and Sarepta Therapeutics Inc. Alexander “Bo” Cumbo joins the company as president and chief executive. He was previously chief commercial officer and executive vice president at Sarepta.
Newfront Insurance, an insurance brokerage with offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, Calif. and Portland, Ore., secured over $100 million in new funding, valuing the company at $500 million. The company's lead investors are Founders Fund and Meritech Capital.
RVshare, an Akron, Ohio-based peer-to-peer RV rental marketplace, raised over $100 million in growth capital. KKR & Co. led the round, and was joined by Tritium Partners.
Be Biopharma, a Cambridge, Mass.-based startup developing B cells as medicines, launched with $52 million in Series A financing. Atlas Venture and RA Capital Management led the round, which included support from Alta Partners, Longwood Fund and Takeda Ventures.
Output Inc., a Los Angeles-based digital production platform, landed a $45 million Series A round from Summit Partners.
Anyscale Inc., a Berkeley, Calif.-based distributed programming startup, picked up $40 million in Series B funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Foundation Capital and Intel Capital. Pete Sonsini, general partner and head of enterprise investing at NEA, will join the board.
BridgeHealth, a Denver-based startup that helps members find the best hospital for their specific surgery type, collected $40 million in Series A funding and merged with consumer digital health company Transcarent. Investors including 7wireVentures, Alta Partners and General Catalyst provided the financing round.
Syte, a Tel Aviv-based provider of visual artificial intelligence technology for ecommerce companies, closed a $30 million Series C round, with an additional $10 million in debt. Viola Ventures led the funding, with contributions from LG Tech Ventures, La Maison, MizMaa Ventures, Kreos Capital, Magma, Naver Corp., Commerce Ventures, Storm Ventures, Axess Ventures, Remagine Media Ventures and KDC Media Fund.
Dance, an e-bike subscription service currently operating an invite-only pilot program in Berlin, completed a €15 million ($17.7 million) Series A round led by HV Holtzbrinck Ventures.
Lili, a New York-based banking app designed for freelance workers, snagged a $15 million investment. Group 11 led the round, and was joined by Foundation Capital, AltaIR Capital, Primary Venture Partners, Torch Capital and Zeev Ventures.
