Coronavirus Updates and Resources

Yesterday the NSW Department of Health announced changes to the requirements for operating gyms. This includes gyms run by Surf Life Saving Clubs - either exclusively for members or also open to members of the public. This provision comes into effect midnight Friday 31 July.

Congratulations to the four Directors who were re-elected to the Surf Life Saving NSW Board for a further two year term. They were:

Blackroll Activation and Recovery Series

The BLACKROLL and Surf Life Saving NSW Activation and Recovery Series is here to teach surf lifesavers the benefits of rolling and trigger work using rollers, balls and bands. This week BLACKROLL Australia have prescribed the perfect set of exercises for surf lifesavers to help keep you rescue ready.

Australian UAV Service NSW - Paid Recruitment Now Open!

With a presence in every coastal NSW council, the AUAVS is encouraging SLS members to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:

More Than 600 Lifesavers to Row 24 Hours for Mental Health

After the success of the Avalon Beach 24 Hour Row over the past two years, the event is expanding in 2020 with a total of 14 Surf Life Saving Clubs signing on to row and raise money and awareness for mental health charities Gotcha4Life and One Eighty this August.

Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!

With over 330 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:

• Lifeguard Supervisors
• Season Staff
• Casual Staff.
